Sally Burrows Hudson, MS, RN, CNN

Sally, a co-founder, has 30 years experience in nephrology as a quality improvement, client services, and medical affairs professional. She has worked with the End Stage Renal Disease Network in Northern California as the Director for Quality and served as Vice President of Clinical Services for Spectra Laboratories. Sally also was Senior Associate Director of Medical Affairs at Amgen, Inc and most recently, Director, Medical Affairs for Bone Care International. Sally has a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from San Jose State University and a Master of Science degree in Chronic Illness and Gerontology Nursing from the University of California at San Francisco. She is a Past President of the American Nephrology Nurses' Association and certified nephrology nurse.
Jennifer Vavrinchik, MSN, RN, CNN Executive Vice President jenniferv@iceer.org
Jennifer, a co-founder, has 19 years of nephrology experience as a clinical and client services professional. She has worked with Renal Therapies as Director of Nursing specializing in home therapies and served as Director of Clinical Services for Spectra Laboratories, and currently serves as President of Nephrology Clinical Solutions, Inc. Jennifer has a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degree in Nursing from the University of Cincinnati. She is a member of the American Nephrology Nurses' Association and a certified nephrology nurse.
Lesley Dinwiddie, MS, RN, FNP, CNN Senior Vice President lesleyd@iceer.org
Lesley, a co-founder, has over 30 years of experience as a clinical, quality improvement and academic professional. She has worked as a Nurse Practitioner and Clinical Instructor at the University of North Carolina. Lesley served as a member of the KDOQI Vascular Access Workgroup 2004-2006. She currently has an independent nephrology nursing consulting practice specializing in vascular access education. Lesley has a Diploma in General Nursing from Australia, a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Arkansas, and a Master of Science in Nursing from the University of North Carolina. William Venus, BS Board Member
William has 15 years of professional sales and marketing experience in the nephrology field. His experience includes Regional Sales and Manager of New Business Development for Spectra Renal Management, Professional Sales Representative for Amgen, and Director of Marketing and Development for Renal Research Institute LLC. William is currently Vice President and Managing Director of Clinical Outcomes Resource Application (CORA) Corp. and Dialysis Purchasing Alliance. William has a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of Scranton and is a member of the National Renal Administrators Association.
Carol Headley, DNSc, RN, CNN Board
Member
Carol has 24 years of clinical nephrology nursing experience that began as a staff nurse, increased as
a clinical specialist, and has culminated in her current position as an advanced practice nurse in the
Nephrology Section at Memphis VAMC. She has been actively involved with the American Nephrology
Nurses' Association, most recently editing a book entitled:
Career Fulfillment in Nephrology
Nursing: Your Guide to Professional Development. Her commitment to the care of patients affected by
kidney disease is also noted by her selection to serve on the Board of Directors for ESRD Network 8
and as the Memphis Area Fistula First Coalition Chairperson. Her expertise has been shared through
publications and as a lecturer on the local and national level. Carol received her BSN in 1984 and her
MSN from the University of Alabama in 1988 and she completed her Clinical Doctorate of Nursing program
at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in 2003.
Jean K. Kammerer BSN, RN Board
Member
Jean has over 30 years of nephrology nursing experience working as a staff nurse, charge-nurse,
educational coordinator, nurse-manager, administrator, and operations director in several
hospital-based and free-standing dialysis centers in New England. She also held the position of
Medical Review Coordinator at the ESRD Network of New England. In 1998, she joined Amgen as a Clinical
Specialist in the Washington, DC metropolitan area and later moved to California to work in
Amgen’s Medical Affairs Division, managing the development of educational programs for
clinicians. Currently Jean remains active in nephrology nursing consulting on educational programming
for nurses and technicians. She has worked with ANNA, NKF, and NANT to improve education,
professionalism, and opportunities for nephrology nurses and dialysis technicians and participated in
the publication of 25 articles and book chapters as well as delivered numerous presentations. Jean
received an AAS in Nursing from Mohawk Valley Community College in Utica NY and a BSN from Central
Connecticut State University in New Britain, CT. She has been certified by both the Board of
Nephrology Examiners and the Nephrology Nurse Certification Board.
Patricia (Tricia) Bargo McCarley, RN, MSN, NP Board Member
Patricia’s 33 years of nephrology nursing has been divided between clinical, management, and
research. Beginning as a hemodialysis staff nurse, she has served as an administrator as well as a
researcher. Her current role is as a nurse practitioner at Diablo Nephrology Medical Group in Walnut
Creek, California. She is active in ANNA having served on local, regional and national committees and
is currently a member of the Nephrology Nursing Journal Board. Patricia has authored many publications
including most recently chapters in the 2005 ANNA Nephrology Nursing Standards of Practice and
Guidelines for Care and the Contemporary Nephrology Nursing: Principles and Practice (2nd Ed.). She
has created clinical content for several ICEER presentations and for the CKDEA initiative. Patricia
received her BSN and MSN from Vanderbilt University.
Charlotte Szromba MSN, CNN, APRN-BC Board Member
Charlotte has over 25 years clinical experience in the nephrology field. Beginning as a staff nurse in
hemodialysis, she went on to roles in education coordination and as a nephrology nurse associate prior
to her most recent clinical practice role as a nurse practitioner in the management of chronic kidney
disease at the University of Chicago. Charlotte is currently a nursing consultant for Nephrology
Clinical Solutions. She has shared her expertise through publications and is currently a department
editor for and serves on the Nephrology Nursing Journal editorial board. Charlotte is a member of the
American Nephrology Nurses’ Association, active nationally having served on the board of
directors and chairing several committees including Distance Learning. As a sought after speaker, she
has given numerous presentations both nationally and internationally. Charlotte’s nursing
education began with a diploma from South Chicago Community Hospital School of Nursing and was
followed with a BSN from Oakland University in Rochester Michigan and a master’s degree in
nursing from the Nurse Practitioner Program at Wayne State University in Detroit.
Donna Syracuse, RN Board Member
Donna has 31 years of nephrology experience both as a nurse and in a variety of positions in
nephrology industry sales. As a new graduate, she became a staff nurse in dialysis and quickly rose to
Nurse Administrator. Her sales career began as a territory manager with Terumo Medical Corporation
followed by a series of sales positions with Fresenius Medical Corporation including regional Director
of Sales for Spectra Inc and Executive Director of Sales for Diagnostics. During her six years with
Vasca Inc, Donna held positions as National Director of Sales and Senior Director of Sales for the
East Region. Her current position is as the National Director of Sales for Hemosphere Inc. Donna
received her nursing education at Queens Hospital Center School of Nursing, Queens, New York.
